Rates and Information

We’re booking our general season elk camp 2 years out if you are interested in a spot. We highly recommend you contact us to discuss dates and put a $500 deposit down on the hunt accompanied by a reservation form.

This is the only way to secure a spot with us. If you apply for and draw a license, and call us at that point to book a spot, we probably will not have an opening for you. You can find reservation forms on our website or contact us and we can email one to you. You can pay with a check, money order or credit card. We do this on a first come, first serve basis. You may also ask and we can email our refund policy.

If you book a spot with us for elk, YOU MUST PURCHASE PREFERENCE POINTS to increase draw odds you can ask and we can instruct you on how to do this.

We also highly recommend travel insurance. This will protect you if you are unable to come on your hunts and have to cancel after you have drawn licenses. There are several choices available; if you are a member of SCI, they have good travel insurance; the other is Travel Guard thru AIG insurance.

One thing I cannot express enough is physical fitness. This is a horseback hunt in the RockyMountains, so doing some physical-fitness before your hunt will greatly increase your odds of harvesting an animal. We also recommend horse riding lessons before your hunt so you’re more comfortable on a horse. We do have weight restrictions of 275 lbs.for our horses.

To Book Your Hunt We Need:

A completed reservation form along with $500 hunt reservation fee. This fee reserves a hunt with us on a first come first serve basis. We apply this fee to the cost of your hunt once you draw your license. If you are not successful in drawing a license, this fee can be held over for the next year (placing you at the top of the list), or returned in full. You may obtain your reservation form online or contact us and we will be glad to mail one to you.

We will do your application for you via the Game & Fish portal online. This assures us that the application is completed correctly and submitted by the deadline. You can either send me a completed application with a check for the application fee, or I will go through it with you over the phone and enter the information into the portal. Elk license applications are accepted the month of January only. Drawing results are available via phone or the website on February 21st (in the future, draw results may not be posted until May or June). Preference points only may be purchased via the website July 1st- October 31st. Wyoming Game & Fish website
